Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
LifeCharter (“we”, “us”) provides a financial planning workspace for licensed financial advisers in Singapore. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. It applies to the LifeCharter application at lifecharter.sg and to this website.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address and role when you create an adviser account or accept an invitation to a practice.
- Client records entered by advisers. Advisers using LifeCharter record information about their prospects and clients, such as names, contact details, policy details and planning inputs. Advisers are responsible for having the right to record this information; we process it on their behalf to provide the service.
- Connected service data. If you choose to connect a third party service (such as Google Calendar, Telegram or WhatsApp), we receive the data described in the section for that service below.
- Usage and technical data. Log data such as sign-in events and requests, used to keep the service secure and reliable. We use cookies only for authentication and for remembering your theme preference; we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve the LifeCharter service.
- To secure accounts and prevent misuse.
- To respond when you contact us.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third party advertising.
Google user data
If an adviser connects their Google account, LifeCharter requests access to Google Calendar with the calendar.readonly and calendar.events scopes. We use this access only to:
- show the adviser their own upcoming calendar events inside LifeCharter, and
- create calendar events for appointments the adviser books in LifeCharter.
Google access tokens are stored encrypted and are used only server-side. Calendar data is shown to the adviser who connected the account and is not shared with anyone else. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Access can be revoked at any time from LifeCharter settings or from your Google account permissions; on disconnect we delete the stored tokens.
LifeCharter’s use and transfer to any other application of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Other connected services
Advisers may connect messaging services such as Telegram or WhatsApp to log client contact activity. These connections are optional, are made by the adviser for their own account, and can be disconnected in settings at any time. Credentials for connected services are stored encrypted and never shown in the interface.
Storage and security
LifeCharter is hosted with established cloud providers, and data is stored in the Singapore region. Sensitive personal fields are encrypted at rest in addition to the provider’s own storage encryption. Access to production systems is restricted and audited.
Document processing
When an adviser uploads a policy document for automatic extraction, the document is processed by an AI service provider under an agreement that does not permit the provider to use the content to train its models. Extracted fields are shown to the adviser for review before they are saved.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers needed to run LifeCharter (hosting, database, email delivery and document processing), each bound to use it solely to provide their service to us, or where required by law. Client plan share links created by an adviser show a read-only plan view to the person the adviser shares the link with, and expire.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as the adviser’s practice uses LifeCharter. Advisers can delete records inside the product. When an account is closed we delete or anonymise personal information within a reasonable period, except where the law requires longer retention.
Your rights
In line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act, you may ask to access or correct personal data we hold about you, or withdraw consent to its use. If you are a client of an adviser who uses LifeCharter, your adviser is the right first contact for requests about the records they keep.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be flagged inside the product.
